El defensa central mexicano, Rafael Márquez, aprovechó las redes sociales para reflexionar sobre su exitosa carrera y agradecer al fútbol y las personas que lo acompañaron durante más de dos décadas como futbolista.

La emotiva carta llega semanas después de que Márquez disputara su último partido con la selección mexicana de fútbol en el Mundial de Rusia 2018.
"Ya han pasado unas semanas desde mi último partido como futbolista profesional y he querido darme este tiempo para digerir todos los sentimientos que se formaron en ese último encuentro. Han sido veintidós años de carrera en los cuales me siento muy satisfecho de haber hecho muchos sacrificios, esfuerzos, errores, aciertos y como resultado de ello provocaron tristezas, en ocasiones decepciones pero en su mayoría, muchas alegrías", escribe Márquez al comienzo de su carta.
"Agradezco a todos los aficionados que me han demostrado su cariñodurante todos esto años; son y seguirán siendo mi motivación para continuar dando mi máximo esfuerzo haga lo que haga y esté donde esté".
Finalmente, Márquez agradeció al fútbol lo conseguido a lo largo de los años.
"Fútbol:me has dado tanto que hay mucho que devolverte; es imposible alejarme, por lo cual siempre estaré ligado a ti".
